The short-termeconomic indicator inJanuary-December2020 compared with January-December2019was97.6%.Calculation of the short-term economicindicatoris implemented to ensureefficiency and is basedon the change in output indexesfor basicsectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade,transport and communications,constituting over 60% of GDP.

The volume of investment in fixedassets in January-December2020was12322.7billiontenge, which is 3.4% less than in January-December2019.

Industrial output in January-December 2020 was 26,743. 4 billion tenge, which is 0.7% less than in 2019. The decrease was recorded in the following industries: mining and quarrying (by 3.7%), water supply, collection, processing and disposal of waste, industrial pollution elimination activities (by 2.6%), electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned (by 0.3%). Meanwhile, there is an increase in the manufacturing industry (by 3.9%).

The volume ofgross output(services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheriesin January-December2020was6271billion tenge, which is 5.6% more than in January-December2019.

The volume of the construction works (services) in January-December2020 was4919,8 billion tenge, which is 11.2% more than in January-December2019.

In «Transport and warehousing» sector the volume indexin January-December 2020was82.8%.

The volumeof freight turnover in January-December2020 amounted to588.7billion ton-kilometers(given the estimation of thevolume ofturnoverof individualentrepreneurs involved incommercial transportation), which is 3.4% less than January-December2019. The volume ofpassenger turnover was108.3billionpassenger-kilometersanddecreased by 63.3%.

In «Communication» sector the volume index in January-December2020was108.6%.

In «Trade»sector the volume indexin January-December2020 was 927%.

The volume of retailtradein January-December2020 was11571.6billion tengeor 95.9% as compared to January-December2019 (in the comparable prices).

The volumeof wholesale tradein January-December2020was23987.8billiontenge or92.6% as compared to January-December2019 (in the comparable prices).

The foreign tradeturnover of Kazakhstanin January-November 2020was77743million US dollarsandcompared to January-November2019 it decreased by12.9%, including export – 43356millionUS dollars (18.2%less), imports – 34387millionUS dollars(5%less).

The number ofregistered legalentities as ofJanuary 1,2021 was 461983unitsandcomparedwith the corresponding periodof the previous yearincreased by 3%, including453343units with less than100 employees.The number of operatingentitieswas330312including 321936small businesses (less than100 employees)

The consumer price indexin December 2020compared to December2019was107.5%. The food priceshave increased by11.3%, non-food – by 5.5%, paid services -by4.2%. Prices ofindustrial productsin December 2020compared to December2019 has decreased by4.2%.

Social sector

Per capita nominal incomeof the population estimatedin November2020was 113433tenge (preliminary data) which is2.1% higher compared to November2019, the real monetary income in November2020decreased by4.8%.

Average monthly nominalwages accruedto employees (estimated) in December 2020 was 220848tenge

The number of unemployedpeople determined by the ILO methodology for the IIIquarter of 2020 amounted to454.8thousand people.The unemployment rate was5% of the labor force.Number of persons registeredwith employment officesas unemployedat theend of December 2020was141.8thousand people or 1.5% of the labor force
