The short-term economic indicator in January-October 2020 compared with January-October 2019 was 97.2%.Calculation of the short-term economic indicator is implemented to ensure efficiency and is based on the change in output indexes for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications ,constituting over 60% of GDP.
The volume of investment in fixe das sets in January-October 2020 was 9410. 8 billion tenge, which is 4.7% less than in January-October 2019.
Industrial output in January-October 2020 was 21437 billion tenge in current prices, which is 0.6% less than in January-October 2019. In manufacturing production has increased by 3.2%, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production - by 0.9%. In mining and quarrying production has decreased by 3.1%, in water supply, sewerage system, control over the collectionand distribution - by 3.6%.
The volume of gross output(services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheries in January-October 2020 was 5395.1 billion tenge, which is 5.2% more than in January-October 2019.
The volume of the construction works (services) in January-October 2020 was 3688.4 billion tenge, which is 10.7% more than in January-October 2019.
In «Transport and warehousing» sector the volume index in January-October 2020 was 82.7%.
The volume of freight turnover in January-October 2020 amounted to 480 billion ton-kilometers(given the estimation of the volume of turnover of individual entrepreneurs involved in commercial transportation), which is 4.1% less than January-October 2019. The volume of passenger turnover was96.9billionpassenger-kilometersanddecreased by 60.4%.
In «Communication» sector the volume index in January-October 2020 was 108.2%.
In «Trade» sector the volume index in January-October2020 was 90.6%.
The volume of retail trade in January-October 2020 was 9067.7 billion tenge or 94.3% as compared to January-October2019 (in the comparable prices).
The volume of wholesale trade in January-October 2020 was18644.8 billion tenge or 90.5% as compared to January-October2019 (in the comparable prices).
The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January-September 2020 was 62825.9 million US dollars and compared to January-September 2019 it decreased by 12.9%, including export – 35328.5 million US dollars (18%less), imports – 27497.4 million US dollars (5.1%less).
The number of registered legalentities as of November 1,2020 was 461058 unitsandcomparedwith the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 3.4%, including 452400 units with less than100 employees. The number of operatingentitieswas 324678 including 316307 small businesses (less than100 employees)
The consumer price index in October 2020 compared to December 2019 was 105.5%. The food prices have increased by 8.3%, non-food – by 4.5%, paid services -by 3%. Prices of industrial products in October 2020 compared to December 2019 has decreased by 6.7%.
Social sector
Per capita nominal income of the population estimated in September 2020 was 109981 tenge (preliminary data) which is 4.7% higher compared to September 2019, the real monetary income in September 2020 decreased by 2.1%.
Average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (estimated) in October 2020 was 209818 tenge
The number of unemployed people determined by the ILO methodology for the III quarter of 2020 amounted to 454.8 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor force. Number of persons registered with employment offices as unemployed at the end of October 2020 was 222.4 thousand people or 2.4% of the labor force
