The short-termeconomic indicator inJanuary-September 2020 compared with January-September 2019was 97.5%Calculation of the short-term economicindicatoris implemented to ensureefficiency and is basedon the change in output indexesfor basicsectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade,transport and communications,constituting over 60% of GDP.

The volume of investment in fixedassets in January-September 2020was 8291.6 billiontenge, which is 4.9% less than in January-September 2019.

Industrial output inJanuary-September 2020was 19087.3 billion tenge in currentprices. In industrial output sector the volume indexin January-September 2020was 100%. In manufacturing production has increased by 3.3%, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioningproduction - by 1.6%. In mining andquarrying production has decreased by 2.2%, in water supply, waste collection, processing and disposal, and pollution elimination activities – by 2.8%.

The volume ofgross output(services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheries in January-September 2020was 4417.9 billion tenge, which is 5% more than in January-September 2019.

The volume of the construction works (services) in January-September 2020 was 3233.3 billion tenge, which is 10.5% more than in January-September 2019.

In «Transport and warehousing» sector the volume indexin January-September 2020was 82.9%.

The volumeof freight turnover in January-September 2020 amounted to 426.9 billion ton-kilometers(given the estimation of thevolume ofturnoverof individualentrepreneurs involved incommercial transportation), which is 4% less than January-September 2019. The volume ofpassenger turnover was 91 billionpassenger-kilometersand decreased by 58.5%.

In «Communication» sector the volume index in January-September 2020was 108.2%.

In «Trade»sector the volume indexin January-September 2020 was 90.5%.

The volume of retailtradein January-September 2020 was 8014.8 billion tengeor 93.2% as compared to January-September 2019 (in the comparable prices).

The volumeof wholesale tradein January-September 2020was 16396.9 billiontenge or 90.6% as compared to January-September 2019 (in the comparable prices).

The foreign tradeturnover of Kazakhstanin January-August 2020was 55629.5 million US dollarsandcompared to January-August 2019 it decreased by 12%, including export – 31853.6 millionUS dollars (15.7% less), imports – 23775,9 millionUS dollars(6.4% less).

The number ofregistered legalentities as of October 1,2020 was 458893 unitsandcomparedwith the corresponding periodof the previous yearincreased by 3.3%, including 450246 units with less than100 employees.The number of operatingentitieswas 322031 including 313678 small businesses (less than100 employees)

The consumer price indexin September 2020compared to December2019was 104.9%. The food priceshave increased by 7.4%, non-food – by 3.9%, paid services - by 2.5%. Prices ofindustrial productsin September 2020compared to December2019 has decreased by 4.7%.

Social sector

Per capita nominal incomeof the population estimatedin August 2020was 109660 tenge (preliminary data) which is 4.3% higher compared to August 2019, the real monetary income in August 2020decreased by 2.5%.

Average monthly nominalwages accruedto employees (estimated) in September 2020 was 212894 tenge

The number of unemployedpeople determined by the ILO methodology for the II quarter of 2020 amounted to 454 thousand people.The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor forceNumber of persons registeredwith employment officesas unemployedat theend of September 2020was 227.9 thousand people or 2.5% of the labor force
