Today, war veteran Vasily Vasilyevich Makienko passed away. Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov expressed his sincere condolences to his family and friends.
The life of Vasily Vasilyevich is an example of courage, dedication and worthy service to the Motherland. He was called up to the front when he was not yet 18 years old and went through a difficult combat path as part of rifle regiments, including the Guards. For his heroism, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree, and medals.
After the war, he devoted himself to peaceful labor, contributed to the development of the region: he worked in the water supply system, and for 13 years held the position of deputy head of the technical equipment production department. "Our veteran was a life-loving man, led an active and healthy lifestyle, remaining a shining example of fortitude and true patriotism for the younger generation. Last year, he, together with the region's residents, took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame - this moment was especially touching and evoked a sense of pride and deep respect in all North Kazakhstanis. Next year, the veteran would have turned 100 years old. The feat and labor path of Vasily Vasilyevich Makienko will forever remain in the hearts of all North Kazakhstanis. Blessed memory," the head of the region wrote on social networks.
