Innovative project to monitor floods with drones launched in NKR

Innovative technologies for monitoring the flood situation are being introduced in the North Kazakhstan region. According to the instruction of the Head of State, a joint project of Kazakhtelecom JSC and the Akimat of North Kazakhstan region “Unified Drone Infrastructure” was launched in the region during the flood period. This project was presented to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov during a working visit to North Kazakhstan region. Today, the official launch of the project took place with the participation of the Minister of Emergency Situations Shyngys Arinov and the head of the region Gauez Nurmukhambetov during a visit to the new situation center at the Akimat of North Kazakhstan region.

With the help of drones, the flood situation is monitored around the clock in real time. 8 drones are used to monitor key flood-prone points from the air:

• Shagalaly River, Taiynsha city

• Toksan bi, Musirepov district

• Sergeevskoye reservoir

• Pokrovka, Yesil district

• Novonikolskoye bridge

• Teplichnoye and Pribrezhnoye

• Bolshaya Malyshka

• Zarechnyi, Kozhevennyi, Ushcheva, 0.8 km in Petropavl

"The drones are equipped with an automatic recharging system, thermal imagers, which allows them to work in any conditions. They promptly transmit data from the air about changes in water levels and potential threats, which allows services to quickly respond and make prompt decisions. Thanks to the use of drones, the accuracy of flood forecasting increases and possible consequences for residents of the region are minimized" the head of the region wrote on social networks.

The Situation Center at the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region is a key analytical and coordination link, where all information systems are united. This approach makes it possible to monitor the current situation in many areas in real time and coordinate the actions of all government agencies.
