Akim of the NKR held a final sectional meeting with akims of nearby districts

The akim of the region held a final sectional meeting with the participation of akims of the Kyzylzhar, Yesil, Mamlyut, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Zhambyl districts and the city of Petropavl, as well as the heads of responsible departments. The main attention was paid to preparing for the flood period, given the significant damage caused by last year's flood to Petropavl, Yesil and Kyzylzhar districts.

In these districts, measures were taken to minimize the risks of flooding of settlements:

▪️Kyzylzhar district: Dams were strengthened in the villages of Beskol, Pribrezhnoye and Teplichnoye. Protective embankments were erected in the villages of Priishimka, Bogolyubovo, Bolshaya Malyshka, Semipolatnoye and Sokolovka. The nearest plans include the construction of earthen ramparts in Olshanka, Dolmatovo, Barnevka, Zaton and Krivozerka.

▪️Yesil district: Earthen ramparts have been strengthened in the villages of Novouzenka, Guryanovka and Pokrovka. Culverts have been installed on the access roads to the villages of Birlik, Bulak, Zhargain, Karagay and Aktas. Also, three culverts with a diameter of 1 meter have been installed on the republican highway Petropavl-Zhezkazgan, near the bridge over Yesil.

▪️Petropavl: Every spring, the private sector of the city is subject to flooding by melt water, especially Rabochy Posyolok and Bereke. In case of a threat, motor pumps will be used to pump water from the courtyard areas. There are 92 motor pumps available, 50 of which were purchased this year. Storm drains are being cleaned. A drainage channel is being built in Bereke.

During the working visit, the head of the region inspected the work to strengthen the dams in Teplichnyi, Beskol, Ushcheva and Kozhevennyi. Near the village of Novokamenka, blasting operations were carried out on the Yesil River, aimed at preventing ice jams. Before the flood period, such work will be carried out on 46 sections of the Yesil River and small rivers.
