Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov visited our region. During the trip, the Head of Government visited the Sergeyev hydroelectric complex, got acquainted with the preparations for flood control measures, the readiness of equipment and materials for protection against possible flood waters. He also checked the progress of the reconstruction of the 1st lift pumping station in Petropavl.
The reconstruction of the pumping station was designed taking into account the risks of a critical rise in the level of Yesil. European-made pumping units can operate even in a flooded state. Remote control is provided. In order to protect against flooding, the dam around the station was reinforced, 4.5 m high, using gabion structures. This technology is an effective solution and was used for the first time in North Kazakhstan region. An underground cable was laid for a stable power supply to the pumping station.
In addition, it is planned to reconstruct the city bypass with an increase in the height of the embankment, the installation of protective structures and the construction of a bridge across Yesil. The construction of a bypass canal near the Petropavlovsk hydroelectric complex has begun to reduce the risk of flooding of microdistricts.
In addition, the Prime Minister was presented with technological capabilities with elements of artificial intelligence. In particular, the Unified Drone Infrastructure project. Starting this year, it is planned to use it to monitor the flood situation in the North Kazakhstan region, with further scaling to other flood-prone regions. This will allow us to correctly assess the situation and coordinate the actions of services.
