Today, the international conference "Seed Day, Tukum-2025. Kyzylzhar" was held, bringing together farmers, domestic and foreign experts from Europe and neighboring countries. The conference was attended by the Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov and "Kazakhstannyn Yenbek Yeri" Gennady Zenchenko. The participants got acquainted with the exhibition of seeds of high-margin crops presented by Kazakhstani and foreign producers.
High-quality seeds are the basis for high yields. Last year, farmers harvested a good harvest, which was made possible by compliance with agricultural technologies, an increase in the area sown with elite seeds, and government support measures. Breeding plays an important role - scientists from North Kazakhstan have developed a new variety of spring wheat "Semenovna", which is highly resistant to harsh climates.
The region's agriculture is actively developing: modern dairy complexes, sheep farms and feedlots are opening. In this regard, the development of forage production and the introduction of productive varieties of forage crops are of particular importance.
At the conference, leading domestic and foreign experts discussed issues of improving the quality of seeds, introducing modern breeding technologies, innovative processing methods, improving varieties and increasing yields. New varieties of promising agricultural crops of foreign domestic selection were presented.
"The international conference has become an important platform for exchanging experiences, discussing current problems and prospects for seed production, which will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and strengthening food security," the head of the region noted.
