Repeaters help to expand the network coverage area, but have a number of disadvantages:
- Reduced speed - repeaters operate in half-duplex mode, which reduces the data transfer rate.
- Interference - create interference, degrading the signal for other devices.
- Signal delay - increase response time, which is especially noticeable in online games and video calls.
- Limited area - a weak original signal limits the effectiveness of the repeater.
- Security - older models may be vulnerable to attacks.
- Power consumption - require additional power.
Repeaters are convenient, but it is worth considering their limitations and considering alternatives.
