In NKR, dams are being strengthened and expanded

In Petropavl and Kyzylzhar district, restoration of protective dams damaged during the flood continues. Today, the Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov together with specialists inspected the progress of the work. The dams are being strengthened and expanded. The coastline in Victory Park is also being strengthened by installing an open storm drain. The work covers 8 dams with a length of 32 km, namely:

  • Teplichnoye
  • Beskol
  • 0.8 km
  • Ushchev St.
  • Kozhevennyi
  • Zarechnyi
  • Bioprud

Hundreds of dump trucks, loaders, rollers and graders are involved in the restoration work. Each facility has a technical supervision team that strictly monitors the progress of the work. The dams are being expanded according to the calculations of specialists and taking into account the characteristics of the spring flood. The contractors have been tasked with completing all work by the middle of next month.
