A new infectious diseases hospital will be built in North Kazakhstan region

The akim of NKR Kumar Aksakalov published a post on social networks, where he spoke about the measures taken to combat the virus.

«During the pandemic, we stopped planned hospitalization. All forces were thrown into the deployment of beds to combat coronavirus and pneumonia. Taking into account the positive dynamics, planned hospitalization is being resumed in the region from today. We are seeing a downward trend in the number of cases now. Re-profiled hospitals are already vacant. Our region has passed the peak of incidence. If at the beginning of July the ambulances left 712 times per day, now calls have decreased to 464. The load on the ambulances has decreased by 34%», — the regional akim wrote.

Also, fewer patients are admitted to infectious diseases and provisional hospitals. At the peak time, provisional workers received up to 249 people a day, and 74 people were admitted yesterday.

“But this is no reason to calm down. It’s too early to relax. It is necessary to maintain social distance, wear a mask and follow all the requirements. We must be prepared for the second wave of coronavirus, which is expected in the autumn. A pre-fabricated modern infectious diseases hospital with 200 beds will be built in the regional center. The site has already been determined. Completion date is October 2020. We will supply modern equipment, including a computer tomograph and 20 ventilators," — the head of the region emphasized. ⠀

At the same time, the equipment of medical organizations is being strengthened. The number of ventilators has tripled, from 73 to 264. Before the pandemic, there were 18 oxygen concentrators, now there are 125.

«We are opening 5 oxygen stations at our main hospitals. Today, at the session of the regional maslikhat, it was decided to allocate 300 million tenge from the budget for the creation of oxygen stations. This will resolve the issue of transportation of oxygen cylinders and facilitate the work of medical workers», — added Kumar Aksakalov. ⠀

In the region, 5 computer tomographs operate around the clock. Next year, we will purchase 2 more modern tomographs. There are 21 X-ray machines available, and 2 more digital X-ray machines will arrive by the end of the year.

«The issue of drug supply is under special control. A 16-day supply of medicines was formed in hospitals.

We are creating a drug stabilization fund. To increase the availability of popular medicines in retail pharmacies, we are allocating 250 million tenge to the stabilization fund. These funds were approved today at the session of the regional maslikhat. This will allow to create a stock of medicines in pharmacies for up to 1 month», — the head of the region summed up.

In addition, for the accessibility and availability of essential medicines for the villagers, the agrarians will be assisted in purchasing medicines and selling them through medical posts in the villages. At the same time, for socially vulnerable layers of the rural population, the sale of these drugs will be free of charge.
