The renewed Petropavlovsk railway station will surprise passengers

The reconstruction of the Petropavlovsk railway station was inspected by Kumar Aksakalov.

The work began almost three years ago and should be completed by December 1 this year. The waiting area will increase by 30%, escalators and elevators will appear, and the corridors leading to the platform will be insulated. The ventilation system has also been completely renewed.

It should be noted that the financing of the work was undertaken by «Russian Railways» JSC.

The regional budget allocated the money from to change the area near the station. Structures for fountains have already been installed, a lawn has been partly laid, small architectural forms have been developed.

The location of bus stops will also change. They will be moved closer to the train station for the convenience of visitors.

«More than 250 thousand people come and go through our station every month. Since our region borders on the Russian Federation, we have many guests from abroad. That is why we set about reconstruction of the station. The appearance of this building makes the first impression for everyone who comes to Petropavlovsk. Both the station and the square in front of it should be made in the same style and be in harmony», — Kumar Aksakalov emphasized.
