Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov visited the first lift pumping station, which was damaged during a heavy flood. The station is currently being reconstructed. With funds from Kazminerals, construction and installation work will be carried out and pumping equipment will be replaced.
Also, from the local budget, for uninterrupted power supply to the pumping station, an underground cable line with a length of 3.5 km will be laid. In addition, the dam around the station will be strengthened.
This year's flood showed the need for a backup water supply. A decision was made to restore the pumping station in Podgora. A new pumping station will be built there; a design and estimate documentation is currently being developed.
“If Petropavl is temporarily left without the main water supply system, as during this year’s flood, the reserve station as an alternative source will provide the citizens with drinking water,” the head of the region wrote on social networks.
