Akim of NKR took part in cleanup event in flood-affected Podgora and congratulated everyone on Unity Day

On May 1, our country celebrates the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. On this day, at the initiative of the regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstanis went out for a cleanup day. This call was supported by representatives of different spheres: civil servants, deputies, youth, businessmen, athletes, ethnocultural associations and volunteers. Today, together with the public, we cleared the streets and areas of houses in Podgora that were damaged by floods.

“I congratulate all residents of the region on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, thanks to joint efforts, cohesion and mutual respect, we will be able to overcome all the difficulties of natural disasters,” the head of the region said. 

During the fight against the flood, the regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan took on a very important role. A headquarters, a volunteer center, and a humanitarian aid reception point have been organized on the basis of the House of Friendship. Gauez Nurmukhambetov thanked them for their mutual assistance and support during a difficult period.
