World champion in freestyle wrestling was honored in north

“Our fellow countryman, world champion in freestyle wrestling, Rizabek Aitmukhan, has returned to his homeland. Rizabek is an athlete who fulfilled the dream of many wrestlers in Kazakhstan. During the years of independence, Rizabek Aitmukhan is the first to become the world champion in freestyle wrestling,” Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov wrote on his page on social networks.

On Saturday, the region's sports community gathered to congratulate him on his big victory and presented him with a letter of gratitude and a cash prize.

Much credit goes to his father and coach Kanat Aitmukhanuly, who taught him to play sports since childhood; the head of the region also expressed gratitude to his mother Guliyar Sembikyzy.

“Rizabek’s victory gave hope to young athletes, because a village boy conquered the world stage. The Olympics in Paris are ahead, we wish Rizabek a successful performance. We will root for the champion!” the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region noted.
