University of Arizona Double Degree Program Launched in NKR

“On the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, work is underway in the country to open at least 5 branches of reputable foreign universities by 2025. As part of this instruction, a double-degree education program was launched jointly with the University of Arizona. Today is an important stage in the history of our university. This is the result of a partnership with one of the best universities in the world. Carried out painstaking work with foreign colleagues. This project will have a multiplicative effect on the development of our region,” Kumar Aksakalov, Akim of the North Kazakhstan region, wrote on his social media page.

The first course was recruited from 170 students who entered special state grants. 500 grants will be allocated annually through the state. You can see the influx of young people from other regions. Under the new international program, students from 7 cities of the republic came to study. Students will study at our university for three years and one semester in Arizona. At the exit, graduates will receive a double diploma.

The infrastructure is improving. The construction of a modern educational and laboratory building is being completed, in which 68 scientific, educational and virtual laboratories will be concentrated. We are building 3 dormitories for 1.4 thousand people for the university.

“We are at the beginning of the implementation of a large project, which will definitely be continued,” the akim of the region summed up.
