Akim of North Kazakhstan Region commented on the situation at CHPP-2

Akim of the region Kumar Aksakalov visited CHPP-2 and told reporters about the current situation.

"The President instructed to ensure the supply of heat to the residents of the regional center as soon as possible. Before the accident, 4 boiler units were operating at the CHPP. As a result, 2 failed, worked all night on two. The third boiler unit was launched in the morning, the fourth one will be put into operation in the afternoon. We will switch to the pre-accident mode," the head of the region said.

All services are working at the place of liquidation of the accident. Yesterday, one person worked at the scene of the accident, and rescue and search operations are underway.

A special commission has been set up to investigate the cause of the accident. The structure included employees of the akimat, law enforcement agencies and specialists.
