During a press conference at the CCS, the akim of North Kazakhstan region Kumar Aksakalov summed up the results of 2020. The head of the region began his speech with the main topic — the coronavirus pandemic.
The akim of the region noted that the situation in the region is stable and controlled. The number of infections and hospitalizations is decreasing daily. About 94% of all patients have recovered. The occupancy of bed capacity in hospitals does not exceed 32%. The number of seriously ill patients or patients who need to be connected to a ventilator does not increase either. Planned hospitalizations did not stop.
“Therefore, based on the current epidemiological situation, by mid-December we plan to remove the lockdown on weekends and holidays and significantly weaken restrictive measures in the regional center,” — Kumar Aksakalov said.
The North Kazakhstan region has thoroughly prepared for the second wave. A new infectious diseases hospital has opened in the region. Ventilators and necessary medical equipment were purchased. Ambulance equipment increased from 76 to 100%.
