Southern Urals and Kazakhstan: New Horizons for Cross-Border Cooperation

As part of a working visit to the Chelyabinsk Region, a delegation from the North Kazakhstan Region, led by the region's Akim, Gauez Nurmukhambetov, participated in the interregional forum "South Urals and Kazakhstan: New Horizons for Cross-Border Cooperation."

Developing interregional cooperation remains one of the priorities outlined by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Russian investors are already implementing a number of industrial cooperation projects in the North Kazakhstan Region. By the end of 2025, trade between the North Kazakhstan Region and the Russian Federation amounted to 311 billion tenge, with a significant portion of this turnover occurring in border regions.

During the forum, the investment, industrial, and agricultural potential of the North Kazakhstan Region was presented, and promising areas for further cooperation were discussed. B2B meetings were also held for business representatives from the North Kazakhstan and Chelyabinsk Regions. The akim of the region also held an official meeting with Chelyabinsk Region Governor Alexey Teksler. They also visited leading industrial enterprises, where they learned about their modern production facilities, advanced technologies, and experience in implementing industrial projects. As part of the official visit, the regional delegation held a flower-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame.
