Since November 9, entry into and exit from the regional center has become practically impossible. A checkpoint was again set up near the village of Beskol. Today, Kumar Aksakalov has inspected his work. My colleagues were finding out who can enter or leave Petropavlovsk, what is needed for this.
Medical referral, certificate of employment and negative test result for covid-19. Only with these documents citizens can expect to leave the city or to enter it. Last night alone, the police checked over 900 cars, about 40 had to be turned back, they did not have the necessary documents.
KUMAR AKSAKALOV, THE AKIM OF NORTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION:
A little more than a day has passed since the entry of the checkpoints. The main problem that the people of North Kazakhstan are facing now is incorrectly completed documents. To avoid confusion, a special call center began working on November 6, where residents can contact with all their questions. In addition, the head of the region instructed the city akim to inform the population on a daily basis.
Video surveillance was also installed here. Cameras read the vehicle license plate and automatically check its presence in the database. This eliminates contacts and significantly speeds up travel through the checkpoint. So it is in the interests of the North Kazakhstanis to fill out all the documents correctly. Today, the database has registered a little more than 8 thousand people and about 3 thousand cars.
BULAT ZHUMABEKOV, THE AKIM OF PETROPAVLOVSK:
There are still some flaws, but in the near future the system will work, so there will be less inconvenience when crossing the checkpoint. The police and health workers will approach each case individually.
