Today, the "Taza Kazakstan" environmental campaign was held across the republic with the participation of the Head of State. Over 70,000 trees were planted in the region as part of the event.
Akim of the region Gauez Nurmukhambetov took part in the tree planting at Lake Pestroye, where a modern eco-park is currently under construction.
Overall, the "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign, initiated by Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, has become an important nationwide movement in two years, uniting citizens around the ideas of cleanliness, improvement, and respect for the environment.
"Most importantly, the campaign has united thousands of residents of the region. The large number of active and proactive young people is especially encouraging. This means that a new generation is emerging that understands its responsibility for the environment," the regional governor noted. During this period, the region has carried out extensive sanitization work in populated areas, landscaping courtyards, parks, and squares, and tidying up social facilities, streets, and public spaces. Particular attention has been paid to landscaping the region. Last year, over 200,000 trees and shrubs were planted, and this year's plan is 155,000.
