Akim of the region Inspects region's preparedness for flood season

During a working visit, Akim of the region Gauez Nurmukhambetov inspected the region's preparations for the flood season. The condition and readiness of flood protection structures in the Kyzylzhar District, the bypass canal in the village of Zarechny, and the current situation at the Petropavl hydroelectric power station were inspected.

Following the visit, instructions were given to establish a flood control center in the village of Pribrezhnoye. All key areas have been placed under special monitoring.

The akim of the region also inspected the progress of the reconstruction of the regional road leading to the village of Pribrezhnoye. As part of the project, a three-span bridge is being built. The work is proceeding according to the approved schedule.

According to specialists, the beginning of the overflow over the dam crest was recorded at the Sergeyevskoye Reservoir on March 31. The current water level is 8 cm. According to Kazhydromet forecasts, the flood peak is expected in the second or third ten-day period of April.

The region has organized 24-hour water level monitoring, and all necessary resources have been deployed. The situation is being constantly monitored.
