At the Akimat meeting, two priority issues were discussed: attracting investment and implementing the Taza Kazakstan concept

Attracting investment remains a key objective set by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. By the end of 2025, the region has attracted 609 billion tenge. Foreign direct investment amounted to $160.9 million, more than double the target.

A number of major investment projects are being developed. In particular, Kaztekhmash, in partnership with Liugong, is launching production of road construction equipment. Construction of a large oil extraction plant with the participation of a Turkish investor is planned in the Qyzyljar SEZ. Negotiations are also underway with JCB, and projects are being implemented with Ultradecor and YDA Group.

An additional driver will be the creation of a multimodal logistics hub in the Qyzyljar SEZ at the airport, which will significantly increase investment in the region. Particular attention is being paid to the implementation of the Taza Kazakstan program. From 2024-2025, over 3,000 events were held, 240,000 tons of waste were collected, and over 200,000 trees were planted. Volunteer projects for landscaping, riverbank and lakeshore cleanups, and environmental education activities are being implemented. Digitalization is also advancing: 113,000 green spaces have been digitized in Petropavl, and electronic tree passports are being introduced. This experience will be scaled up.

Following the meeting, the akim of the region gave instructions to ensure the implementation of plans to attract investment, intensify work with investors, expedite the launch and implementation of projects, and provide comprehensive support at all stages of implementation. Instructions were also given to strengthen systemic environmental efforts, develop digital solutions, and ensure the high-quality implementation of all planned tasks.
