"Botai. The Lost World": Unique culture and the birthplace of horse domestication on the big screen

The akim of the region met with the film crew, director Andrey Avdeyev, and the cast to discuss the film's progress and creative concept. The film will showcase the uniqueness of Botai culture and confirm Kazakhstan's status as the birthplace of horse domestication—one of humanity's greatest achievements.

"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized that the preservation and development of historical and cultural heritage is a priority of state policy. The country supports projects that strengthen national identity and foster social development.

"Our region is actively involved in promoting national cinema. With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the National Cinema Support Center, filming of the historical film "Botai. The Lost World" has begun in the region. I would like to express special gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Aida Balayeva for her personal attention and support of this project, which allowed us to realize our creative vision and showcase the region's rich heritage," the akim of the region noted.

The project's implementation will be an important contribution to the development of national cinema, strengthening historical self-awareness, and enhancing the region's tourism appeal.

Kazakhstani Film Week has also kicked off in the region. It is being held in rural areas for the first time, bringing domestic cinema closer to regional audiences and promoting national culture.
