Gauez Nurmakhambetov held a sectional meeting with the akims of the Kyzylzhar, Mamlyut, M. Zhumabayev, and Zhambyl districts and the city of Petropavl, as well as the heads of responsible agencies. Key issues related to flood preparation were discussed. The Kyzylzhar district and the city of Petropavl are under special monitoring. A range of measures are being taken to minimize potential risks and ensure public safety.
✔️There are seven hydrological posts operating in the Kyzylzhar district. Reconstruction of a 5.9-kilometer dam in the village of Beskol is ongoing. Work in Teplichnoye is fully completed. In the village of Pribrezhnoye, dam reinforcement and reconstruction work is in the final stages.
✔️Reconstruction of the regional road leading to the village of Pribrezhnoye is also underway, including the construction of a three-span bridge. The total length of this section is 2 km.
✔️Protective embankments with a total length of 18.9 km have been erected in 13 settlements. In the villages of Bolshaya Malyshka, Olshanka, and Dolmatovo, additional reinforcement of the embankments with moisture- and frost-resistant geomembrane is being carried out. Thirteen potentially hazardous areas have been identified, where blasting operations are planned to prevent ice jams.
✔️Within the city limits, the village of Zarechny remains in the flood hazard zone. Earthen embankment reinforcement has been completed, protective dams have been installed, and a 4,250-meter bypass canal has been reconstructed. The phased relocation of residents continues. Last year, a 90-apartment residential building was commissioned. The regional head noted that work to prepare for the flood season is continuing in an intensified manner and is under constant monitoring.
