The creative workshop "Trash Art Fest - Turning Trash into Art" was held in Petropavl. The event was organized as part of the environmental initiative "Taza Kazakstan," initiated by the Head of State.
The main idea of the workshop was to visually demonstrate that household waste can be given a second life. During the event, children and their parents made bird feeders from recycled materials—plastic bottles and cardboard boxes. Participants experienced firsthand how recycling and reusing things is not only beneficial but also creatively engaging.
The environmental program "Taza Kazakstan" aims to foster a new environmental culture in society. As previously emphasized by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, cleanliness and respect for nature should not be a one-time event, but a daily norm for every citizen. According to him, caring for the environment begins with personal responsibility and concrete actions.
Damir Baltashevich Abdin, Director of the Petropavl Youth Resource Center, noted that such initiatives help bring families together and instill positive values in the younger generation:
"Today, it is especially important to engage children and parents in joint environmental activities. Through creativity, we foster a conscious attitude toward the environment. The master class was more than just making bird feeders; it was a contribution to fostering a culture of cleanliness and responsibility, as outlined by the Head of State in the "Taza Kazakstan" program."
Tatyana Viktorovna Kondrashova, Director of the Karandash Art School, emphasized the creative component of the event:
"Art begins with an idea. We wanted to show children that even the simplest materials can be transformed into useful and beautiful products. This format developed their imagination, environmental thinking, and taught them to see value in what was previously considered unnecessary."
The organizers noted that the Trash Art Fest became a platform for family interaction, the exchange of ideas, and joint creativity. The main goal of the event was to foster environmental awareness, develop a caring attitude toward nature, and actively engage the region's residents in environmental initiatives.
