Sustainable scientific and technological development of the region: New mechanisms and priorities

Chaired by the akim of the region, Gauez Nurmukhambetov, sustainable mechanisms for the region's scientific and technological development were discussed at a meeting of the Council for Science and Technology.

✔️As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, science must become a true productive force and contribute to economic development, improving competitiveness, and improving the quality of life of citizens. These priorities are also reflected in the updated Constitution, which places a stronger emphasis on the development of human capital, education, and the creation of conditions for scientific and technological progress.

✔️As one of the country's leading universities, M. Kozybayev University of Science and Technology plays a special role in this process. Today, the university is tailoring its work to the specific needs of the region, becoming a center for the integration of science, education, and industry. The "Tomorrow School" educational campus is being launched, and new laboratories, "Agrochemical Analytics" and "Water Quality Assessment," are opening. Their activities are aimed at solving practical problems in the agro-industrial complex, ecology, and industry.

"The North Kazakhstan Region possesses significant scientific potential. Our goal is to fully unlock this potential, create conditions for effective collaboration between scientists, businesses, and the government, support promising projects, and ensure their practical implementation. During the meeting, roadmaps and agreements were signed to establish industry consortia that will ensure systematic project support—from scientific development to implementation at enterprises in the region," the akim of the region noted.
