Agro-industrial vector: New opportunities for the regional economy

Today, an expanded board meeting of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development was held under the chairmanship of the Akim of the region, Gauez Nurmukhambetov. The meeting summarized the results of the previous year and identified key objectives for the current period.

"During the expanded government meeting, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave specific instructions to intensify efforts to attract investment and develop the processing industry. These areas are our priorities. The past year has been a period of qualitative change for the region. The region is consistently strengthening its position as an agro-industrial region, demonstrating sustainable development of the industrial sector. By the end of 2025, industrial production volume amounted to 942.4 billion tenge. The manufacturing industry remains the key driver," the akim of the region noted.

Over the past few years, cumulative foreign direct investment has reached $708 million. Investment in fixed assets has increased by 65%, while private investment growth reached 69%.

Of particular importance is the Qyzyljar Special Economic Zone, which has become a magnet for foreign companies from Russia, China, Italy, Germany, and Turkey.

Last year, three new SEZ subzones were created in the region, two of which are located in the districts and focused on implementing large investment projects.

The akim of the region noted that work in this area will continue systematically. The main objective is to maintain sustainable growth, ensure economic diversification, and create new opportunities for businesses and residents.
