"Seed Day. Tukym-2026 Kyzylzhar": a platform for exchanging agricultural experience

The international conference "Seed Day. Tukym-2026 Kyzylzhar" was held today, bringing together farmers and domestic and international experts. Gauez Nurmukhambetov, Akim of the North Kazakhstan Region, participated in the conference. Participants viewed an exhibition of high-margin crop seeds presented by Kazakh and international producers.

"The development of seed production is one of the key areas of state agricultural policy. For the second year in a row, the international conference "Seed Day. Tukym-2026 Kyzylzhar" has brought together leading domestic and international experts in our region. This year, representatives from five countries are participating in the event, underscoring the high international interest and practical importance of this platform for exchanging experience and discussing modern solutions. "Holding this exhibition and conference clearly demonstrates the implementation of state priorities outlined by the Head of State and is consistent with the provisions of the updated Constitution, which enshrines guarantees for the protection of citizens' rights, private ownership of land and means of production, and freedom of entrepreneurship," the head of the region noted.

The foundation for a future harvest is laid at the stage of seed selection and reproduction. Last year, the region's farmers harvested over 6 million tons of grain and 1.3 million tons of oilseeds—the best results in the country. A significant contribution to these results was made by 43 seed farms in the region, which produced approximately 95,000 tons of seeds adapted to local conditions.

Scientific support for the industry plays a vital role. The regional agricultural experimental station tests over 8,000 wheat samples annually. Last year, 12,100 tons of original and elite seeds were produced.

These results were made possible thanks to systematic government support, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, and the development of scientific potential. An integrated approach allows us to create a sustainable foundation for the further development of the agro-industrial complex and increase the competitiveness of the region's agriculture.
