"Eco-Battle: Taza Kazakstan" was held in North Kazakhstan region, where students discussed ecology and cleanliness in an intellectual game format

The intellectual game "Eco-Battle: Taza Kazakstan" was held in Petropavl. It was organized by the Youth Initiatives Department of the Center for Public Development and Information with the support of the Birgemiz volunteer front office. Students from city colleges participated in the game, forming teams and interactively discussing issues of ecology, cleanliness, and personal responsibility for the environment.

"The idea for these intellectual games arose as part of our initiative to raise environmental awareness among young people. Our goals are not only to educate students but also to develop critical thinking and teamwork. Therefore, we decided that the game would be an excellent platform for discussing current environmental issues, such as waste sorting and biodiversity conservation. We hope that the participants will be able to apply the knowledge they gain in their own lives," Gulbakyt Baibusinova, event organizer and front office coordinator for Birgemiz volunteering, noted.

The Eco-Battle program included two rounds. In the first, teams answered questions on ecology and cleanliness, including knowledge of specific facts and regulations related to waste disposal. In the second round, participants completed a teamwork task: captains explained thematic words and concepts without naming them, and the team had to quickly navigate and provide the correct answer.

Such interactive environmental activities have already become a good tradition in the region. In recent years, Taza Kazakstan has increasingly held events specifically for young people, focusing on engagement, dialogue, and practical participation. This format allows for simple discussions about ecology and transforming knowledge into practical habits.

Participants themselves note that the game helped them gain a new perspective on everyday actions and their impact on the environment.

"The game left a very vivid and pleasant impression. The Eco-Battle format was not only interesting but also educational – I learned a lot about ecology and realized how important even small actions are for preserving the environment. What I liked most was that we worked in teams, discussed environmental issues, and looked for solutions together. This helped me feel responsible and understand that everyone's contribution truly matters," Ilyas Tashev, one of the game's participants, noted.

Anastasia, a student at Magzhan Zhumabaev College, also shared her impressions. According to her, participating was not just a fun activity, but an opportunity to contribute to an important cause and discuss specific proposals for improving the environmental situation in the city.

"I was genuinely surprised by how much useful and engaging information can be obtained in just one hour. During the game, we didn't just compete; we actively discussed ideas, exchanged opinions, and proposed ways to improve the environmental situation in our city. Each flag not only represented a specific country but also reflected significant environmental initiatives and themes, which added an element of surprise and added interest to the game. Ultimately, participating became more than just a fun activity for me, but a real opportunity to contribute to an important and necessary cause. Ecology is very important to me, and I believe that any change begins with us—with small but conscious steps."

The organizers emphasized that the goal of the event is to instill environmental awareness and respect for the environment in young people, as well as to reinforce a conscious attitude toward cleanliness and order through teamwork and engagement.
