The tennis center was built and commissioned as part of a public-private partnership in 2018 and was privately owned. After several years, construction defects began to emerge: the court surface was cracking, the drainage system failed, and as a result, the center remained in a pre-emergency condition for a long time. Due to legal regulations, the facility could not be immediately transferred to state ownership; litigation ensued. It was only this summer that the tennis center was transferred to state ownership, after which a comprehensive renovation began, funded by the local budget. Today, it is a modern sports facility, ready to welcome athletes and significantly expanding the training and preparation capabilities of future champions.
The facility fully complies with modern standards and safety requirements: the courts have been renovated and the surface completely replaced, the drainage system has been modernized, new lighting has been installed, and the basement has been renovated. The center has four indoor and three outdoor courts, as well as a spectator stand with a capacity of 1,000 seats. A regional tournament is currently underway here, with over 60 tennis players from across the country participating. In January, the center will host its first international tennis competition, featuring athletes from 15 countries.
As part of the further development of children's sports, tennis clubs are planned to open at 10 educational institutions. The Kazakhstan Tennis Federation is providing significant support, providing all courts with the necessary equipment. The first facility opened today in the comfortable School No. 29 in the Bereke microdistrict.
