A Kazakh-Estonian business forum was held in Astana, attended by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Estonian President Alar Karis. A delegation from the North Kazakhstan region, led by Akim Gauez Nurmukhambetov, also participated in the forum.

During the event, Nord Panels LLP signed an agreement with the Estonian private port, Port of Sillamäe AS, to implement an investment project to develop the industrial potential of the port of Sillamäe and establish a plywood mill on its premises.

Nord Panels plans to invest at least €5 million over three years, equip the facility with modern equipment, launch plywood production, and create new jobs. The future plant will have a capacity of up to 30,000 cubic meters of product per year, while adhering to European quality and environmental safety standards. It's worth noting that trade ties between the North Kazakhstan Region and Estonia are strengthening annually. From January to September 2025, mutual trade volume reached $5.9 million, 1.5 times higher than the previous year's level.
