XXI Kazakhstan-Russia forum: North Kazakhstan region and Omsk region secure cooperation for 2025-2028

The XXI Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum is currently taking place in Oral, West Kazakhstan region. This year's forum focused on the topic "Blue-Collar Jobs – Drivers of Economic Growth." This topic is particularly relevant today, as blue-collar workers and specialists ensure the development of manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and industry.

During the event, Akim of the region Gauez Nurmukhambetov and Governor of Omsk region Vitaly Khotsenko signed an Action Plan for 2025-2028 aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, social, cultural, humanitarian, and other areas.

A delegation from North Kazakhstan region also participated in the forum's plenary session, which was held via videoconference with the two heads of state. "In his speech, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev noted that Russia is one of Kazakhstan's key trade, economic, and investment partners. For our region, the Russian Federation also remains a key partner, accounting for over 60% of the region's total foreign trade. Over the past five years, trade turnover between the North Kazakhstan region and Russia has increased 1.6-fold, reaching $697 million," the akim of the region noted.

It's worth noting that our region cooperates not only with Russia's border regions — Omsk, Kurgan, and Tyumen regions — but also with the Republic of Tatarstan. Enterprises collaborate with Russian companies both in exporting their products and importing raw materials, materials, and components used in production.
