Akims' forum: rural development in focus

The region held an annual forum of akims at all levels, dedicated to rural development, in line with the instructions given by the Head of State in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan.

The President emphasized that rural development is the foundation of a strong state.

The effectiveness of government programs, job creation, and infrastructure development depend on the initiative and responsibility of each akim.

"Today, we can confidently say that the institution of elected akims has proven its effectiveness. The corps of rural akims has been renewed by 60%, and district and city akims by 28%, which is giving new impetus to regional development and improving the quality of local governance. Half of the region's residents live in rural areas. The necessary conditions for a comfortable life are being created in each district. New projects are being implemented. The priorities remain unchanged: attracting investment and modernizing production, all aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas and increasing rural incomes," the head of the region noted.

Particular attention is being paid to digitalization. The country's first district creative IT center has already opened in Shal Akyn's district, and similar centers are already being established in other districts.

The akim of the region also noted the importance of entrepreneurs' social responsibility. According to him, farmers not only develop production but also build social facilities and improve villages, making a tangible contribution to improving the quality of life of the population.

"This practice must be continued by all akims," Gauez Nurmukhambetov emphasized.

The main task of akims is to ensure revenue growth in their territories. Akims must abandon a dependency mentality. Today, relying solely on budgetary funding from above is no longer feasible. Akims must find additional sources of income, develop businesses, and attract investment. This is the only way to fulfill the objectives set by voters.

Our primary goal is to actively implement the objectives set by the President, improve the quality of life, and ensure the sustainable development of the North Kazakhstan region. The forum also included dialogue platforms where rural akims received direct clarification from department heads on pressing issues.
