Athletes toured the construction of a new ice arena

A new, modern ice arena will be commissioned in the city by the end of this year. This is an important and long-awaited facility, the need for which has long been recognized by both the sports community and city residents.

Renowned speed skaters and their coaches toured the construction of the new sports facility. At the invitation of the akim of the region, they visited the site where the future ice arena is being built and personally assessed the scale and potential of the new sports facility.

"Athletes and coaches have repeatedly approached us with this request. That's why it was important for them to see for themselves what the future facility will look like and to be able to express their wishes," Gauez Nurmukhambetov noted.

The development of mass and professional sports is a priority in the region. Particular attention is being paid to creating a modern sports infrastructure that meets international standards. In the coming years, construction is planned for a multifunctional ice arena with a 400-meter speed skating track, two hockey rinks, and curling areas. A multi-purpose sports complex will also be built, featuring a 50-meter Olympic swimming pool, martial arts and rhythmic gymnastics facilities, as well as volleyball, basketball, and fitness courts.

The new sports facilities will not only expand training and active sports opportunities but will also allow for the hosting of top-level international competitions, making the region an attractive hub for the sports community.
