A meeting of the Coordination Council for the Prevention of Offenses Related to Domestic Violence was held in the region. The event was attended by the akim of the region, Gauez Nurmukhambetov, along with representatives of law enforcement agencies, relevant departments, and civil society.
During the meeting, priority measures for preventing domestic violence, improving interagency cooperation, and providing assistance to victims were discussed. It was noted that the region operates crisis centers, counseling centers, and hotlines, as well as prevention programs involving school psychologists and social services.
"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized that protecting the rights of citizens, especially women and children, upholding the law, and maintaining public order are key priorities of state policy.
We are consistently implementing these priorities in the region. The principle of 'Law and Order' underpins all our work," the akim of the region noted.
Work in this area will continue systematically, strengthening all existing mechanisms. Effective interagency cooperation among all services and departments, as well as the active participation of civil society and public organizations, are of particular importance.
