In NKR, the ecological interactive event "EcoLife: Youth Choice" was held as part of the "Taza Kazakstan" program

A bright ecological interactive event "EcoLife: Youth Choice" was held in Petropavl, uniting active citizens within the framework of the "Taza Kazakstan" program initiated by the Head of State. The event was organized by the Youth Resource Center of North Kazakhstan region together with the volunteer front office "Birgemiz" and the public association "Shtab JE SKO".

The goal of the event is to form environmental awareness and involve young people in caring for the environment through easy and exciting activities. Three thematic stations were deployed on the central street of Constitution of Kazakhstan. Here you could try your hand at sorting garbage into containers, try your luck in "eco-roulette" and leave a message on the "Tree of Wishes for the Planet".

“We are holding the “EcoLife: Youth Choice” campaign to draw attention to environmental issues in a simple, accessible and interesting way. Our task is not only to inform, but also to engage. Through game formats — such as “eco-roulette”, “wishing tree” or waste sorting — we form environmental thinking in children. Young people are actively involved, and this gives hope that awareness will become the norm,” Anastasiya Volkova, organizer of the campaign, head of the front office of volunteering “Birgemiz” noted.

Such environmental interactive events have already become a good tradition in the region. In recent years, within the framework of “Taza Kazakstan” and other initiatives, more and more events are held specifically for young people — with an emphasis on involvement and practical participation. This helps not only to hear important environmental topics, but also to consolidate them in real activities. College student Aliya has been working at the sorting station since early morning: “The topic of ecology is important to me, and I believe that everything starts with us — with small steps. Today I helped at the sorting station and saw how willingly people join in. It is especially gratifying when children are interested. This means that we are moving in the right direction. Volunteering is an opportunity to change the world, and I am glad to be part of this process.”

The event also attracted new participants in the volunteer movement. For some, this was their first experience in such a format, and it turned out to be not only exciting, but also truly motivating. Many admitted that they had not previously thought about the scale of environmental problems, but now they plan to sort waste and treat resources more carefully. Such personal experience often becomes a starting point for changing habits and involving friends and family in environmental initiatives.

“This is my first time participating in such an event. I liked that everything is easy and interesting. The idea with the "eco-roulette" is especially cool — you learn something new and get a prize. For example, I didn't know before how long it takes for plastic to decompose. Now I understand why waste should be sorted. I will definitely tell my friends and family about this. I think such events should be held more often!" Kaidar Abilkhaiyr, who recently joined the ranks of volunteers at the front office of "Birgemiz" noted.

"EcoLife" has become a clear example of how through play and live communication you can awaken interest in ecology in people. And most importantly — to remind: small steps of each person add up to big changes for the entire planet.
