💧Thanks to the support of the Government and sponsorship from the KAZ Minerals Demeu Corporate Fund in the amount of 2.9 billion tenge, an important infrastructure project was successfully implemented — the reconstruction of the first lift pumping station, which supplies the entire city with drinking water. The facility was visited by the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov.
🔧 Key results of the reconstruction:
🔹 Modern European pumping equipment was installed, capable of operating smoothly even in flooded conditions
🔹 The diesel generator is located in the upper part of the building — to protect against water. The control panel is also located at a safe height and operates remotely.
🔹 A 4.7-meter-high dam made of a gabion structure with reinforced concrete reinforcement was built
âš¡ Ensuring reliable power supply: four overhead lines were restored, and two backup underground cable lines were laid to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
"The launch of the updated station significantly increased the resilience of the city infrastructure to flood threats and ensured a stable water supply for residents of Petropavlovsk," the head of the region noted.
🔄 Backup water supply source
Despite the introduction of modern equipment, the first lift pumping station remains the only source of drinking water for the city. In order to increase the reliability of the water supply system, it is planned to build a backup pumping station in the Podgora microdistrict. The implementation of this project will eliminate existing risks and ensure the stable operation of the entire water infrastructure.
