A linear accelerator for the treatment of oncology was installed for the first time in NKR

A long-awaited event in the healthcare sector of North Kazakhstan region — an innovative linear accelerator for the treatment of oncological diseases was installed in the Oncology Center. This is the first such device in the region. An important project was implemented with the financial support of the Kazakstan Khalkyna Foundation. Today, the Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov and the Chairperson of the Foundation Lyazzat Chinkisbayeva got acquainted with the capabilities of the modern equipment.

"If previously our residents had to travel to other regions to undergo radiation therapy, now high-tech assistance has become available here. The Halcyon linear accelerator and a special latest-generation CT scanner with an artificial intelligence system that allows us to accurately calculate the radiation dose, identify tumor contours and direct the beam precisely to the affected cells without affecting healthy tissue. This is a new level of quality of oncology treatment and a great hope for recovery for thousands of patients," the head of the region wrote.
