The 125th anniversary of Smagul Saduakasuly was widely celebrated in the NKR

This year, the country celebrates the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding statesman and public figure Smagul Saduakasula. In honor of the significant date, a republican scientific and practical conference was held in our region with the participation of the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov, the intelligentsia and the general public. The head of the region read out to the participants a congratulatory letter from the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, addressed in honor of the anniversary of the outstanding son of the Kazakh people.

As part of the conference, Academician Dikhan Kamzabekuly, a researcher of the life of Smagul Saduakasuly and the author of a book about him, as well as famous public figures shared their thoughts and talked about the personality of the great compatriot. During difficult historical times, Smagul Saduakasuly honorably performed important government posts and made a significant contribution to the development of national culture and education. He stood at the origins of the first Kazakh drama theater, actively participated in the formation of the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute and was one of the pioneers of Kazakh journalism. Despite his short life, Smagul Saduakasuly left a bright, indelible mark on the history of Kazakhstan. The people of North Kazakhstan are rightfully proud of their outstanding fellow countryman: his name was given to Secondary School No. 2 in Petropavl, and a bust was installed in front of the building. In honor of the anniversary, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument, and the premiere of the play "Smagul shyny" was held in the Kazakh theater. All these events are aimed at preserving and popularizing the rich heritage of Smagul Saduakasuly, passing on achievements to future generations.
