Reconstruction of the Zhanazhol checkpoint will begin this year

Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov checked the progress of work on the reconstruction of the republican highway to the border with the Russian Federation with the Kurgan region. The project has been delayed, so the key task is to carry out active work. The new contractor has already started repairs. By the end of this year, travel along the new road to the border will be ensured. This road will become an important link between the border regions and the development of a transit corridor, which will give impetus to the development of transport logistics and tourism.

This highway leads to the Zhanazhol checkpoint, where reconstruction and modernization work will also begin this year. The project provides for the construction of new buildings and structures, the organization of entry and exit in separate directions, expansion to four traffic lanes, the introduction of modern inspection systems and the installation of lighting.

All these measures are aimed at increasing the comfort of those crossing the border and significantly reducing the time it takes to go through border procedures.
