SHYMKENT WILL BE PROVIDED WITH 100% INTERNET SPEED
This instruction was given by the city mayor Murat Aitenov at an online administration meeting on Internet provision issues.
In his speech, acting head of the Digitalization Directorate R. Akzhigitov noted that 105 microdistricts and residential areas in the city are provided with the Internet, including access to mobile Internet -74, wired Internet- 79, fiber-optic communication channel - 49 microdistricts.
According to him, today the share of households with Internet access is 90.7%. 98.5% of them are connected to mobile broadband and 21.8% to wired broadband. The share of Internet users is 80%, the number of fixed Internet subscribers is 75.5%. In addition, he noted that the quality of mobile Internet is poor in 20 microdistricts and in 16 residential areas.
During the meeting, service providers noted that base stations were removed in several microdistricts and special places for installing base stations have not been provided.
At the same time, the city mayor instructed to ensure 100 % network speed.
- "Every citizen should have access to high-quality Internet. Now most of the public services are provided through the Internet. Therefore, we should focus on settlements with low-quality Internet and start a high-speed 5G Internet network, "-said M. Aitenov.
According to him, in some microdistricts of the city, the quality of the 4G network is low, the head of the city instructed to develop a strategic plan to provide Shymkent city with high-speed Internet and switch to 5G technology.
