Due to the current epidemiological situation in Shymkent, the quarantine restrictions have been extended until June 8 by the decision of the Chief Sanitary Doctor. This was announced today by Mayor of the city Murat Aitenov at a press conference with journalists.
The mayor noted that the residents must strictly comply with sanitary requirements.
"It is up to you and us to stop the spread of infection in the city! The country has stopped the emergency situation, this does not mean that the quarantine restrictions will be lifted. In recent days, the spread of the virus has sharply increased due to the negligent attitude of the population to quarantine. On may 25, the number of people infected with the coronavirus reached 606 in the city. 218 patients were treated, 6 people unfortunately passed away. An average of 31-50 people are registered per day in the city from May 18 to 24. And over the past day, laboratory studies have revealed 36 new cases, the growth per day was 6.3%" - said Murat Aitenov.
According to him, 260 quarantine hotbeds were registered in the city. To date, 132 of them are under control.
According to Murat Duysenbekovich, monitoring is being conducted at 4,136 objects.
It should be noted that due to the epidemiological situation, public catering facilities, religious sites, kindergartens, fitness centers, and educational clubs have not been opened to date.
