In Shymkent, new metal waste bins will be installed on the territory of private residential buildings. This year it is planned to purchase 1,474 containers for solid waste disposal and improvement of sanitary cleanliness. This was announced at a meeting chaired by the city mayor by acting head of the energy and utilities directorate Nurlan Zhamankoz.
According to him, there are 488 garbage sites with 2039 waste bins on the city territory. Many of them are worn out, therefore it is planned to update them as part of PPP.
New bins are convenient compared to existing ones. Special covers will not allow light-weight waste to fly away and will protect against unpleasant odors.
The city mayor noted that the work on solving the problems of solid waste disposal should begin with sorting household waste and collecting it in eco-containers.
Green line company presented its own eco-container options and its own waste processing system to the mayor. In addition, the proposal of "Orion Nov Tech" company was discussed at the meeting, which has been working in solid waste processing sphere for several years.
Murat Aitenov expressed disapproval with the current work on waste collection and disposal, especially in the private sector, and instructed to develop a new algorithm for collecting SDW.
M. Aitenov also noted that it is necessary to encourage business for waste processing within the framework of public-private partnership.
