MORE THAN 2,700 DOCTORS FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS IN SHYMKENT
2,764 medical workers of Shymkent work in 26 medical institutions in the fight against coronavirus infection.
Doctors from qualified specialists work in infectious diseases hospitals, quarantine hospitals, ambulance stations, clinics and laboratory centers. Medical professionals provide all possible assistance to patients, starting from the first days. There are even doctors who haven't been home since March. Doctors face the disease daily and honourably perform the tasks assigned to them regardless of outbreak of the epidemiological situation.
In accordance with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on providing assistance to medical workers fighting coronavirus, 2126 high work-load medical workers working in Shymkent in an emergency state received a salary supplement in March-April.
Depending on the danger of the work of medical workers, they are divided into 3 groups. Doctors of infectious diseases hospitals, including intensive care units, middle and junior medical workers of the quarantine zone received a salary supplement. There are also doctors of the dispensary hospital and ambulance services and drivers of ambulance transport.
3,226 doctors and 8,493 secondary medical specialists work day and night in the state medical organizations of Shymkent.
Besides, more than 500 employees working in 4 medical institutions that did not receive a salary supplement received bonuses. At the expense of sponsors, 25 million tenge was allocated to employees of the city infectious diseases hospital and city hospital No. 2. Specialists of the medical rehabilitation centers "Meyirim" and "Atameken" for their painstaking work in the quarantine mode were not left without a bonus.
