SHYMKENT: MURAT AITENOV GOT ACQUAINTED WITH THE OPERA AND BALLET THEATER'S WORK
Today, Shymkent mayor Murat Aitenov got acquainted with the opera and ballet theater's work and met with employees of the theater group.
The meeting discussed ways to attract the population to opera and ballet art. The head of the city shared his proposals for the development of culture. In addition, the mayor raised the issue of attracting qualified ballet specialists from Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
The opera and ballet theater was established in 2007. The first President of the country, Nursultan Nazarbayev, took part in the opening ceremony.
The theater building itself was built in 1984, and in 2007 it was rebuilt as a theater. There is a large hall for 300 spectators and a small hall for 86 seats.
The Director of the institution Abdikhan Nurmaganbetov told about the problems. For example, a theater needs a special warehouse to store items used in performances.
The head of the city noted that the work will be carried out on further development of the theater after the transfer of opera and ballet theater from the property of the Turkestan region to the city balance.
