93% OF SHYMKENT RESIDENTS SPEAK THE STATE LANGUAGE
Today, Shymkent city mayor Murat Aitenov heard the report of the department of culture, development of languages and archives for the first half of this year.
At the meeting, the head of the department Kh.Yesenova noted that at the end of the 6-month period, the indicator implementation rate was 98.7% and to date, the planned funds have been fully disbursed.
During the reporting period, the proportion of the population who speak the State language in the city reached 93 per cent, the proportion of the population who speak Russian - 86.5 per cent, and the proportion of the population who speak English - 22.3 per cent.
It should be noted that 14 teachers work in the Shymkent educational and methodological center for languages. Among them, 7 teachers of the Kazakh language, 2 teachers of the Russian language, 5 teachers of the English language. They conduct courses for 1,120 people per year. Each teacher takes 4 groups. There are 10 people in one group. One teacher trains 80 people per year.
The head of the directorate noted that explanatory work was carried out in this direction with the owners of 169 commercial objects, as a result, 102 advertising signs were put in order. Also, information signs with operational communication numbers are installed on the territory of 4 districts.
