MURAT ITENOV: THERE IS A NEED TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTION OF EXPORT-ORIENTED AND COMPETITIVE PRODUCTS IN THE MARKET
Shymkent city mayor Murat Aitenov received the head of the city’s agricultural and veterinary directorate A.Kanybekov and heard a report on the work done in six months.
In his report, the head of directorate noted that the volume of gross agricultural output in Shymkent in January-June 2021 amounted to 17.2 billion tenge, which is more by 3095 million tenge compared to the corresponding period last year. The physical volume index was 102.1%.
"At the same time, the volume of agricultural exports amounted to 70 million US dollars, compared to the corresponding period last year, it increased by 14.5 million US dollars. The physical volume index was 126%. During the same period last year, agricultural products worth 55.5 billion US dollars were exported, " - said A. Kanybekov.
This year, 29.3 thousand hectares of agricultural crops were sown. Of these, cereals were sown on 12.9 thousand hectares, oilseeds-on 3.8 thousand hectares, feed-on 8.9 thousand hectares, vegetables and melons - on 3 thousand hectares, potatoes - on 0.7 thousand hectares. As a result, 11.2 thousand tons of grain crops, 0.8 thousand tons of oilseeds, 33.2 thousand tons of vegetables, 3.1 thousand tons of potatoes, 12 thousand tons of fodder crops, a total of 60.3 thousand tons of agricultural crops were collected.
In turn, the city mayor noted that there is a need to increase the production of export-oriented and competitive products in the market, as well as to step up efforts in this direction, using the city’s two agro-industrial zones. It is a modern industrial greenhouse complex and industrial zone of food industry «Bosarik».
At the end of the reporting meeting, Murat Aitenov instructed to be active in the implementation of projects of interested farmers, effectively using support provided to the field of agriculture.
