In Shymkent, 10 libraries will be modernized in 2021, which will become a cultural place where the city's population will spend time with benefit. Currently, the libraries are open until 18: 00 pm, from March 1, the Abay library in the pilot mode will serve readers until 23: 00 hours.

The art collectives necessary to enrich the cultural life of the people are fully subsidized by the State. 98% of the annual budget of cultural institutions is provided by the state and only 2% - by institutions. This year, cultural institutions are instructed to earn up to 30% of the funds. If they put on good performances and develop cultural programs, of course, there will be more visitors. It's time for the cultural sector to enter the labor market, " said the city mayor.
In addition, the city mayor said that last year Shymkent was the cultural capital of the CIS countries, and this year, within the framework of the 2200th anniversary of Shymkent, a number of cultural and spiritual events are planned under the auspices of UNESCO.
