IT IS PLANNED TO PROVIDE ABOUT 26 THOUSAND RESIDENTS WITH HIGH-QUALITY DRINKING WATER

In Shymkent, a number of engineering infrastructure works will be undertaken. In 2021, it is planned to provide about 26 thousand residents with high-quality drinking water. In 2020, the construction of 19 objects (17 settlements) and 2 main water intakes was completed, and about 34 thousand residents (12,500 subscribers) were provided with high-quality drinking water. At the end of the year, the indicator of provision of high-quality drinking water increased from 94.7% to 95.6%.
Currently, 69 settlements out of 81 are provided with high-quality drinking water, 5 settlements are provided according to the schedule (Sayram, Kursay, Kaynarbulak, Saule, Zhanatalap), 7 settlements use imported drinking water (Turan, Soltustik sayazhay, Yntymak-2, Batys, Zhana Turlan, Aktas, Asar-2).
This year, construction works will be carried out in 9 settlements (Turan, Soltustik Sayazhay, Yntymak-2, Batys, Zhana Turlan, Asar-2, Aktas, Zhanatalap, Saule). After the construction works are completed, 25.6 thousand people will be provided with drinking water in these localities. By the end of the year, the indicator of providing the city's population with high-quality drinking water will increase from 95.6% to 98%. In addition, the construction of 3 main water intakes will be completed and put into operation.
In general, in order to improve the quality of drinking water in the southern part of the city, it is planned to build a new drinking water source "Sairam Su" and 22 km of main water intakes in 2022-2025.
